Counting Days
What peace can you have,
When you count days,
What life can you have,
When you mark the time,
When can you slow down,
When time is your anchor,
It keeps on speeding along,
And you can't stop counting days,
And the days never stop to let you near,
They are islands,
Islands of pure speed,
Every second slides out of reach,
Too fast to count for anything,
Every day is gone,
Before you can see the real day.
I do not count days,
I let them go,
There is no way to relax,
If days are my life raft,
Why count days,
Why mark time,
Why cling to your anchor of speed,
When you can let them all go,
When you can enjoy each one as it passes,
Why look deep inside each day,
When the only result is stress,
Let them pass,
And you will have life,
You will have security,
Cling to the anchor of family,
The anchor of love,
Stop counting days,
Stop marking time,
Cling to the anchor of stability,
Instead of the speeding unfathomable block of time.
Very nicely done, and some people would do well to keep it in mind. :)
Thanks
Very well said.
Thank you all for those kind words.
Wow, yeah, it's really great. Great advice I say. Good Job, Mikaela! You and Daniele write some amazing poetry!
